Shiji Unifies Housekeeping Workflows with Tasks per Room in Daylight PMS Mobile App
New functionality eliminates fragmented task management, accelerates room turnaround, and ensures nothing gets missed on the floor
Berlin, Germany, Giugno 18, 2026 — Shiji, the global leader in hospitality technology, today announces a powerful enhancement to Daylight PMS: Tasks per Room in the Housekeeping Mobile App. Designed to reflect how housekeeping teams actually work, this new capability embeds task management directly into the room workflow, bringing cleaning and task execution together in a single, unified view.
Housekeeping teams have long relied on fragmented processes, printed task sheets, separate task lists, or constant coordination between systems. The results are missed requests, delayed completion, and slower room readiness.
With Tasks per Room, Daylight PMS removes these inefficiencies by placing all relevant tasks exactly where they belong: at the room level, inside the attendant’s workflow.
Tasks such as minibar refills, extra bed setup, or special guest requests are now visible directly within the “Room to Clean” view, updating in real time as they are completed.
The key innovation is simple; attendants no longer need to leave the room view to manage tasks.
Within a single screen, they can view all active and overdue tasks tied to their assigned rooms, complete tasks instantly without navigating away, reassign, escalate, or reprioritize work as needed, and add comments or attachments for better coordination
Everything is contextual, real-time, and actionable, removing unnecessary steps and reducing the risk of oversight.
Unlike traditional task systems that operate separately from housekeeping flows, this functionality is designed around attendant assignments and daily execution. Tasks follow the room and the assigned attendant, ensuring relevance; only tasks due today or overdue are surfaced, keeping focus sharp, and completed tasks disappear from the active view, while remaining accessible for reference in the dashboard.
The feature works alongside existing task workflows, no disruption required. This ensures teams can adopt the capability instantly, without retraining or process changes.
“The Tasks per Room enhancement is a key step toward our vision of a fully connected housekeeping mobile solution where all required information and action items are provided to the attendants seamlessly”, - Krisztina Budai, Associate Director of Product at Shiji
Immediate Impact for Teams on the Floor
For Attendants:
- Zero context-switching: tasks and cleaning in one view
- Nothing gets missed: overdue tasks automatically flagged
- Faster completion: immediate closure directly from the room screen
For the Property:
- Faster room turnaround: fewer steps between assignment and completion
- Reduced paper usage: no need for printed task sheets
- Improved guest experience: faster response to requests and fewer missed details
Activation is intentionally simple:
- Configure via Settings → Housekeeping → Mobile
- Select either Departments or Task Types to display
- No additional permissions required
- Once enabled, task visibility is instantly activated across the Housekeeping Mobile App.
As hotels continue to face labor constraints and rising operational pressures, streamlining housekeeping workflows has become critical.
Tasks per Room deliver measurable impact by reducing coordination overhead between teams, eliminating manual task tracking and paper processes, and allowing attendants to focus on execution, not navigation.
The result is a more responsive operation where rooms are turned faster, tasks are completed reliably, and teams operate with greater clarity and control.
This functionality is part of Shiji’s broader vision for Daylight PMS, a fully connected environment where operational workflows are not just digitized, but intelligently unified.
By embedding tasks directly into housekeeping execution, Shiji continues to move hospitality away from fragmented tools toward seamless, role-based experiences that reflect how hotels actually operate.
